The Bear's Den is extremely private and is available year round. Bring your snowmobiles and ATV's and hit the trails right from camp. You can ride on the roads and trails are nearby. You can also hike right from the front door, the newly opened Kushaqua Tract Conservation easement is about a 1/2 mile away and the Loon Lake Mountain trailhead is about a mile away. The cabin is close to many great outdoor activities including access to Loon Lake for canoeing, fishing, swimming and more. Access to the lake is less than a 1/2 mile away at our neighbors property, with their permission of course. There is a canoe, 2 kayaks and a row boat there for you to use. Loon Lake is a private lake and sees very little motor boat activity which makes it a Great Lake for canoes and kayaks. Yes there are loons! It's awesome to hear their calls and sometimes see them up close. In Winter this is a snowmobile paradise, the cabin is less than 2000 feet from the main corridor trail. Many of the trails are groomed and you can go for miles and miles! Snowmobile Haven, hop right on the trail system from the front yard. There is a ramp for unloading your sleds. This is a great location for hunting, fishing, hiking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, etc.. The Bear's Den is located 20 miles north of Saranac Lake and 28 miles to Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain in Franklin County NY. It is about 30 minutes to Titus mountain which is a great little ski resort. The cabin has two bedrooms and one bath. one bedroom has a full size bed and the other bedroom has a full size bed and a twin in a loft. There is a Big screen TV, basic satellite TV reception and satellite wireless internet. Go fishing on Loon Lake for Large Mouth bass, Small Mouth and Northern Pike! There are also places to fish for trout within 10 minutes of the camp. There are thousands of acres of state land a stone's throw away and you can hike up Crusher Mountain in about 45 minutes from the front door. if you are feeling a little more adventurous, you can hike Loon Lake Mountain and see the fire tower. There are so many things you can do in the area. The cabin is rustic, cozy and very private. We hope to hear from you soon.
